Maersk is looking to hire an HSSE Advisor with functional knowledge in support of operational HSE support to site-based activities. The role monitors site/facility-based functional performance, works mostly independently but seeks advice in the most complex cases to secure safety performance in line with HSE, Security and Quality standards.
Under the guidance of the Area Health, Safety, Security, and Environment Manager, this position is responsible for the implementation of company HSSE policies and standards in accordance with local and global HSSE regulations to ensure safe and secure operations for our internal and external stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities:
- Develop, execute, and monitor Health, Safety, Security, and Environmental company policies, procedures, and systems to improve HSSE Culture and Performance in the organization.
- Ensure local and regional specific industrial and governmental legislations are met.
- Provide updated information and knowledge on HSSE. Conduct improvements when required.
- Train, guide, and support internal and external stakeholders for function-specific issues in line with legal, compliance, and company-wide regulations.
- Conduct risk assessment and recommend actions to be taken.
- In consultation with the HSSE Manager, assist with applicable HSSE reports.
- Conduct HSSE training and increase awareness.
- Assist/lead/report appropriate incident investigation. Manage non-routine problems.
- Support Area HSSE Manager to deliver actions as part of HSSE Management System in Czech Republic.
We’re looking for:
- University Degree in Engineering or HSSE.
- Local functional certificate valid by Governmental authorities is must if required by the law.
- NEBOSH International Certificate or equivalent in Occupational Health and Safety.
- Min. 5 years’ experience in HSSE especially in logistics operations.
- In-depth know-how of both theoretical and practical aspects of HSSE Management System.
- Strong HSSE leadership and culture with experience in multinational companies.
- Expertise in risk management processes and incident investigation methods.
- Know-how of local compliance and HSSE legislative requirements.
- Strong understanding of Control of Work practices (i.e., hazardous goods, working at height hazards, lifting, ergonomic hazards, and workplace transport, etc.).
- Reporting skills for statistical analysis, scorecards, gap analysis, risk assessment and/or applicable registers.
- Capability to manage relationships at all levels and proactive perspective with multitasking working style.
- Czech native and professional working proficiency in English.
- Proficient in MS Office Programs.
- Readiness to travel (the position will be responsible for operational sites, offices and projects in Czech Republic and one site in Bratislava, therefore requires min. 30% travel in the country).
